Today’s journey offers you an opportunity to slow down; to leave the busyness of your life at this entrance; to focus on the story of Jesus.
Take your time as you visit each station of Jesus’ journey to the cross. Notice the simplicity and detail in each piece of art. No need to rush. Read slowly. Reflect on the words and images allowing them to sink in. Spend as long as you would like at each station. If you’re drawn to stay at a particular spot for a long time, you’re free to stay. Move to the next station whenever you’re ready. Don’t feel pressured.
If several people are at the next station, pause where you are until someone leaves but continue each station in order. Please silence your cell phone.
This journey is not about an agenda or meeting anyone’s expectations. It’s simply a time and a place for you to draw close to Jesus.
Extravagant Love
Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
Matthew 16:24
Everything Jesus did was for you. He endured every moment of pain, betrayal, and agony to bring restoration and healing.
Nothing more needs to be done.
The invitation is to accept the extravagant love and forgiveness of the one who died for you.
